Pietro Zito is one of the two ingenious Slow Food icons of Apulia! The second is Lillino from Cibus further south in Ceglie Messapica. Two madmen in the sense of passion for original products and a knack for an interior in this unique blend of good taste and casualness – a precision landing. So only what the region has to offer, or rather its two hectare vegetable garden – the heart of the restaurant – ends up in his pots. It’s no wonder that the country’s gourmets embark on the long journey to the remote village – the tomato sugo alone is worth every kilometre. An absolute madness is however the degustation menu – consisting of 14 courses for 35 euro. Hard to believe. But convince yourself. With Antipasti and Primi, everything revolves around our own vegetables, followed by “Grigliata mista” and to top it all off, of course, Dolci over Dolci. This address is an absolute must for all food lovers! We recommend to eat there for lunch, the light in the guest room is so nice and of course to reserve in time – a week in advance would be perfect.
The farm can also be visited and there are parties in a beautiful outdoor kitchen.
